In November 2014 we plan to go on an extended vacation / sabbatical to New Zealand which is now just five weeks away. We will post regular updates on here of where we go, things we see, what we do and what we eat!
We are not one of those travelers who simply pack a change of underwear in a bag and head off into the distance with a vague plan and a lot of hope. Oh no. We like to have things well organized so we know where we are going to be and when and how we are going to get there.
Whatever that may take out of the travel in terms of spontaneity it more than makes up for in having a plan of the things we want to see and making sure we tick everything off our (very long) must see list.
So, the plan which will unfold over the coming weeks is to fly to Australia’s West Coast and spend around 10 days touring around the southern coast and wine region. After that we head across to New Zealand for a month before finishing our tour off in Melbourne.
We have hired a car for the whole trip and in general we are intending to spend a few days in each place, staying in some carefully selected B&B’s (I believe nowadays that’s called “flashpacking”) where we hope to meet some interesting people.
